BioPhysics & BioMedical Engineering Research Group
Research Interest
The research interests of this research group have been to synthesize novel biomaterial for various biomedical applicationin . The future interests are to explore ways to improve diagnostic capabilities of the fluorescence-based approach in order take it towards the desired goal of noninvasive and early detection of disease, specifically cancer. In conjunction with fluorescence spectroscopy, Raman spectroscopic studies are being initiated to evaluate the diagnostic potential of this approach. This is therefore expected to complement fluorescence spectroscopy and the combination of the two may lead to improved diagnosis. Biomedical applications will be further explored, focusing on polymeric nanoparticles for theranostics, magnetic nanoparticals for diagnosis, virus based nanoparticles, biomesical optics and tissue scaffoldig for biomedical application.
